Intelligent, singable pop music for sophisticated, adult listeners is harder to find than ever. There might be a couple of good CDs on sale at Starbucks. But where are the new intelligent pop artists? The industry seems more interested in appealing to teens.
We are talent scouts who work just for you!
Look on the internet: there are literally tens of thousands of unknown bands and singer-songwriters selling albums!
Intelligent pop fans would truly love a tiny fraction of these. It takes hundreds of hours of searching and listening to find the true best ones. (How do we decide?)
That's what we do! Our talented, idealistic staff searches and searches — on the internet and elsewhere — and listens and listens. When we find the great ones, we buy hundreds of their CDs and bring their brilliant work to you!
Integrity is our main product, and we guard ours carefully.
If you can't trust us to pick music based solely on merit, then we are worthless to you.
As a subscriber, you are supporting independent music at its most intelligently crafted. You are NOT supporting artists for their looks, their hipness, or how connected they are.
NO ARTIST can EVER pay us for placement in our top 20. In fact, we don't take money from artists period. And we NEVER tie them down to a contract. We listen to every single CD submitted to us, and CDs that make our top 20 have been pored over for hours and hours by our staff. There is no shortcut to finding the best music!
